Chisinau experiences continental climate in the city. Summers in the city are hot and dry. The average maximum temperature in summers remains around 25°C, which sometimes rises to 35–40°C in the mid summers with average precipitation. The humidity is low in summers with infrequent heavy storms. Most of the visitors prefer to visit Chisinau in summers, as the rainfall is least with pleasant weather.
The winters in Chisinau are chilly with average low temperature below 0°C but rarely drops below -10°C. January and February are the coldest months in winters. Springs and autumn are also supposed to be the right time for tourists to visit the city but the rainfall is more frequent in this period. The average temperature in spring and autumn varies in between 16–24°C.
