Air Burkina is the national airline of Burkina Faso. It was established in 1967. Air Burkina aircrafts flies to the main cities in the West Africa. A long distance covered by the airline is only Paris in Europe. The major base of Air Burkina is Ouagadougou airport in Ouagadougou.
Air Burkina was established under the name Air Volta. It was wholly owned by the Burkinabé government, and partially by Air France. Air Burkina was privatized in February 2001. The airline flies to connect some major places in Africa.
Air Burkina airline launched the first aircraft, an Embraer EMB-110 Bandeirante in 1978,and addes the second aircraft a Fokker F28 in 1983. The company works is collaborated with Compagnie Aerienne du Mali of Bamako, and its code shares with that airline on many routes. There are the three main partners of Air Burkina that shares information regarding airlines are: La Compagnie Aérienne du Mali, Kenya Airways and Air Ivoire.
