Air Canada is Canada's largest airline established in 1937 and at the same year its start the operations. Air Canada provides service to 69 Canadian cities, 50 destinations in the United States and 54 cities in Europe, Asia, Australia, The Caribbean, Mexico and South America. Trans-Canada Airlines (TCA) is the Air Canada's predecessor, was created by the federal government as a subsidiary of Canadian National Railway (CNR) on April 1937. In 1964, TCA becomes the Canada's national airline, and changed its name to ‘Air Canada’. The airline became fully privatized in 1989. In 1939 Air Canada launched the first aircraft Lockheed L-10 Electra and Boeing Stearman biplane from Canadian Pacific Airlines.
Air Canada becomes a member of Star Alliance, in 1997. Airline passenger services are started from September 1937. In 2006, approximate 34 million people flew with the airline. In 2007,Air Canada celebrates its 70th anniversary. Air Canada’s total employs are approximately 33,000 people. Airlines operate on average 1,300 scheduled flights each day.
