Air France (formally known as Société Air France) is the world’s largest airlines established in October 1933. It is based in Paris and it’s a subsidiary called Air France-KLM Group. Air France was formed by the merging of Air Orient, Compagnie Générale Aéropostale, Société Générale de Transport Aérien (SGTA). On June 1945, the companies were nationalized. In 1946 the airline opened its first air terminal at Les Invalides in central Paris. It joined the International Civil Aviation Organization (OACI) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), founded in 1945. In 1948 Air France operated one of the largest fleets in the world. In 1949 the company was one of the founders of SITA (Société Internationale de élécommunications Aéronautiques). In 1948 it operated one of the largest fleets in the world.
In June 1999, Air France and Delta Airlines get the partner, and also including Aeromexico, KLM, Alitalia, Continental Airlines, CSA Czech Airlines, Korean Air and NWA in the year 2000. Air France gets Privatization in 2003. On September 2003, Air France and Netherlands announced the merging of the two airlines, the new company to be known as Air France-KLM. The airline employed total of 102,422.
