Air Madagascar is an airline Setup in Antananarivo, Madagascar. It was founded in 1962.
The company previous name is ‘Madair’ and changes its name to Air Madagascar in 1963. It operates services to the island cities like Indian Ocean and Europe, Asia, Africa. Its main hub is in Ivato Airport, Antananarivo.
Air Madagascar starts its operation to the destinations in October 1962. It is the national airline of the Madagascar. It purchased the first aircraft B747-200 in 1979. In 2000-2002, the airline sacrifices with some financial loss, and then it was restructured with assistance from Lufthansa. Air Madagascar is completely owned by the Government, Air France, and Assurances Nu Havana. Air Madagascar adds a second flight B767-300 and launches services to two new destinations. Bangkok and Milan in 2004. It has more than 1380.
