Air Mauritanie

Air Mauritanie is the national Airline located in Nouakchott, Mauritania. It was established in September 1962. The Air Mauritanie airline can operate the Domestic and the Regional flights to the various destinations. Its main hub is situated in Nouakchott International Airport.





Air Mauritanie has started its operations in October 1962. With the help of Mauritanian government, the airline starts operation of a VIP- configured Boeing 727-200. Air Mauritanie started services in 1963 by using Fokker F27 aircraft with the help of Spanish airline. In 1983 the airline launched the Fokker F28 jets and in 1996 ATR 42 aircraft were purchased. The government of Mauritania is now attempting to establish a new airline, Mauritania Airways, merged with the Tunisair and a local company. Air Mauritanie has 235 employees.
