Cathay Pacific Airlines is the flag carrier of Hong Kong and was established in 1946. The airline is the Asia’s largest airline and it offers scheduled cargo and passenger services to over 120 destinations around the world. Cathay Pacific is one of the six airlines worldwide to carry a five-star rating from Skytrax . Its main base is Hong Kong International Airport.



Cathay Pacific Airways was founded by American Roy C Farrell and Australian Sydney H’ de Kantzow in Hong Kong on September, 1946. Its initial operations were started to Manila, Bangkok, Singapore and Shanghai regions in 1948. Cathay Pacific is also a founding member of the oneworld Global Alliance. It was named Airline in 2003 and 2005 by Skytrax and in 2006 by Air Transport World and OAG. The airline is approved by the IATA with the IOSA (IATA Operations Safety Audit) for its safety practices. Cathay Pacific code-shares with oneworld partners American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, Japan Airlines and Qantas.
