Druk Air is the airline based in Paro, Bhutan. The airline was established in 1981. Druk Air is the only one airline of Bhutan and it operates scheduled services to seven cities in six neighboring countries. Druk Air is the only national airline of Royal Bhutan. The airline operations started on January 1983 from Paro to Kolkata and Dhaka. In 1988 its Jet services with BAe 146-100 aircraft were started. Druk Air is wholly owned by the Royal Government of Bhutan. The first commercial flight with an Airbus A319 took place on October 2004.
