Condor May Try To Join TUIfly-Germanwings

(Reuters) - Thomas Cook's charter airline Condor may try to join merger talks between rivals TUIfly and Germanwings after its own planned tie-up with Air Berlin was called off, sources close to the matter said.

Thomas Cook, Europe's second-biggest leisure travel firm, said earlier on Friday that it was "pursuing a range of other available options for Condor."

One source said this included trying to restructure the deal with Air Berlin in a way that would be more acceptable to German regulators.

More likely was that it would look at joining merger talks between TUIfly and Lufthansa's Germanwings, the source said.

Thomas Cook, TUI and Lufthansa declined to comment. Germanwings was not available for comment.
