Air Senegal International was founded in 1971 as Air Senegal. The airline began international flights operations in 2001 with majority stake by Royal Air Maroc. Air Senegal International suspended all its air flights operations in April 2009. It was proposed to replace the current airline with a new one with the name of Senegal Airlines.
