It is the domestic airline of Kenya with its main base in Nairobi, Kenya. Airkenya Express was established in 1987 as Airkenya Aviation with the merger of Air Kenya and Sunbird Aviation. The airline was renamed to Airkenya Express in 2007. It provides regional flights services to several destinations throughout Kenya. The airline also operates scheduled international flights services to Tanzania with great level of comfort and luxury.
