The company was founded on 11 September 2006. The President of Cameroon, Paul Biya established Camair-co in place of the then national airline Cameroon Airlines. The flight services of Cameroon Airlines met to end in June, 2008. However Camair-Co initiated its air flights operations in 2011 with its first flight from Douala to Paris via Yaoundé took place on 28 March.
