Germanwings

Germanwings was a low cost airline of Germany with its base in Cologne, Germany. The airline used to cover more than 66 domestic and international flights destinations of Europe by its scheduled air flight services. Its main hub was at Cologne Bonn Airport. Germanwings along with Eurowings, TUIfly were the business subsidiary of TUI Travel PLC.

Germanwings was founded in 1997 as Eurowings Flug GmbH. The name was changed to Germanwings in 2002. In 2009, it became subsidiary of Lufthansa. It ws the first low cost carrier in Germany.

Germanwings was closed in April 2020 and finally ceased to operate all its flights dervices on April 7.
