Founded in 1948 by the name K-C Aviation. The name Midwest Express was given in 1984. The airline started adding McDonnell Douglas MD-80 aircrafts in 1990. Skyway Airlines was also started as domestic and regional subsidiary of Midwest Express. In 2002, again the name was changed to Midwest Airlines.
